Get a Look at the 4Motion Four-Wheel Drive System in 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Before its Fall Release

The drive's always better with an Active Control at your fingertips. Tacking into the worst of Florida terrain and weather's about to get a lot easier.

When 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan revs onto VW dealer lots in a few months, it'll be sporting along with it an available 4Motion four-wheel drive system complete with a unique Active Control. That'll mean a choice of four terrain- and climate-commanding modes -- On-road, Snow, Off-road, and Custom Off-road -- to personalize the ride against Mother Nature's fortunes. What's more, activating one will be a snap thanks to rotary knob and push-button convenience. VW's intuitive user interface is set to not only engage your mode of choice but to bring up a pop-up menu on 2018 Atlas's infotainment screen that allows mode fine-tuning.

In On-road mode, you'll be able to select from cruising "Normal," punchy "Sport," distance-going "Eco," and a personal "Custom" drive modes. Snow mode offers to help stave off wheel spin in tandem with Atlas's Traction Control System, especially for cornering. Off-road mode kicks the SUV's response into high gear, adding manual Tiptronic shift control as well as Hill Descent Control for coming down off of steep inclines. You'll even be able to modify steering, engine, and gearbox response as well as Hill Descent and Hill Start Assist features to preference in Custom Off-road mode.

Needless to say, we at Volkswagen of Fort Myers are ready to test out this bad boy. While we await the big release, you can take a comparable 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan for an adrenalized thrill ride here at our 14060 S Tamiami Trl showroom. Stop by and visit us in Fort Myers today!
