While we'd certainly never knock the base Golf GTI -- the excellently equipped S -- it admittedly can't quite hold a candle to some of the top-tier iterations.
The penultimate SE trim, for instance, adds a sunroof, automatic headlamps and wipers, keyless ignition and entry, leather upholstery and a premium Fender sound system.
And from there, the range-topping Autobahn takes things even further, as it includes a navigation platform, a 10-way power driver seat (with two-way power lumbar) and dual-zone auto climate control. So equipped, the Golf GTI sports a straight-up swanky vibe.
